Unseen messengers. Supernatural guardians. Heavenly beings on a mission to serve and protect. How exciting it is to know you do not have to walk through life fighting battles alone! I take joy in knowing God has provided supernatural assistance for me. All it takes is faith on my part, to know angels exist. Not only that, but I can command them to work on my behalf.

Angels are unseen spiritual beings that operate in the spiritual realm—that area we cannot readily see with our natural eyes. Although we cannot see angels, they do exist. They are very real, and their mission is to serve and protect us.

I know angels are real because I have had the opportunity to see them and also experience their supernatural protection in the midst of a life-threatening situation. Several years ago, while I was in California to preach at a meeting, my colleagues and I were in a terrible car accident that overturned our SUV. In those few moments, as the car was turning over, I saw an angel break into the natural realm. I know this supernatural occurrence took place to let me know that angels are indeed real, and they will show up when we need them.

Take a moment and think about the many life-threatening situations or “near-misses” you have been involved in. There are probably too many for you to count, not to mention those you are not even aware of! Angels are real and are a part of God’s plan to deliver us from death while we walk this Earth.

What is an angel? An angel is a “ministering spirit” (Hebrews 1:13, 14). It is a spiritual being that is assigned the task of serving and helping people. Angels are not only relegated to protect us from physical danger, but also to serve us in other capacities as well. These heavenly messengers can bring encouragement, spiritual and physical empowerment, assistance with finances, and even facilitate the manifestation of our prayers. Throughout the Bible, angels have played a vital role in bringing God’s will to pass in the Earth.

You might wonder what an angel looks like. The angel I saw was characterized by brilliant white light and garments that seemed to be attached to its torso. Angels have wings, though they are not always visible. In addition, they can also take on human form if necessary. I am sure there have been times in my life when I was in the presence of an angel (in human form) and did not even know it!

There are a lot of things going on in the world right now, things that are beyond our control. Without any sense of safety or security that transcends natural protection methods, it is easy to succumb to fear about what may or may not happen to us. However, you can live free from fear when you open your heart and mind to the reality of angels. I like to think of them as the C.E.A.—Covenant Enforcing Agents. They support and bring to pass the covenant of protection God has made with us.

As with anything pertaining to the spiritual realm, it takes faith to activate angelic assistance in your life. It is going to mean trusting in something you cannot see. But this really is not hard. Think about the conception of a baby in a mother’s womb. We know without a shadow of doubt that a human being will be formed when a sperm and an egg unite. But how many of us have actually witnessed the process, or seen these things with the naked eye? Yet this does not negate the fact that a baby will be conceived. This is what faith is, having confidence in what you cannot see and understanding that what you cannot see will eventually materialize in the natural realm.

Your protection, peace, and security are sure because angels are all around. Stretch your faith today to believe in the unseen realm, knowing there is more working for you than against you!
