(HOUSTON, TX)–Harris County Judge Ed Emmett continues to support a proposed pay hike for county officials.  He says when you do the math, it’s not as much as you think.

 

I think it’s appropriate that everybody be adjusted accordingly. And if you look back this works out to at the highest less than two percent a year pay raise over those six years.”

 

Judge Emmett will not benefit from this round of raises.  His salary is tied those of district judges that preside over civil and criminal court.  Though he’s not allowed to poll, the judge says he hasn’t heard any opposition to the proposed salary hikes.
