A five-year-old boy is hospitalized after being hit by a car over the weekend. According to reports, the accident happened in a high school parking lot Saturday morning.

A field full of kids was attending football camp at Klein High School and the practice had just ended.

Parents were beginning to take their kids into their cars when eyewitnesses saw a white car moving fast in the parking lot. Before a warning to slow down could be shouted to the car, there was the sound of a loud “thump”. The driver of that white car had struck a five-year-old boy.

Additional reports indicate that the driver was initially unaware that she hit the little boy.

The child was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital and the extent of his injuries is not known. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
