The great music educator and Director of Bands @ Willowridge HS, Mr. Ronald Thornton passed away the other day. His band was one of the few high school bands in Texas who could play everything, Show Style (Black), Corps Style marching, symphonic music, and jazz and won championships in all of those categories. He also taught discipline and respect and his students are successful right now all around the world. I was honored to work with his students on many occasions and recently this year at the beginning of band camp. He told everyone this was his last year. Keep the Thornton and Willowridge HS family in your prayers. He was a leader and cornerstone for the Houston Music Educator community and especially in Missouri City, TX. His influence and guidance will be missed!!!

The funeral service for Ronald Thornton will be help Friday; December 11 at 10 am. His memorial service & jam session is on Thursday, December 10 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. everything at Brentwood Baptist Church 13033 Landmark Drive Houston, TX 77045.
