I’ve attended several of their graduations and how the men and women start off in the program (please read her poster).

The WorkFaith Connection is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization that helps men and women begin productive lives through the gift of work. Their eight-day job readiness workshop equips thier graduates with the ability to achieve economic self-sufficency through job retention and career advancement. The program empowers people with the ability to provide for themselves and their familes while living a life of integrity, emotionally, spiritually, and financially: thus stabilizing families and our community.

Since its founding in 2006, The WorkFaith Connection has achieved a 78% employment rate among its more than 1,000 graduates who have been hired across 450 employers in the Houston area. In light of the significant challenges many of these men and women have faced in their past and the current state of the economy, this statistic is astonishing. The opportunity to have employment has also helped many graduates move from transitional to permanent housing. Many of The WorkFaith Connection graduates come from local organizations like the Star of Hope. More than 50% of these men and women are now working, living independently and have now become participants in our economy.
