Over the years, our society has become increasingly purpose driven. Almost everyone wants to answer the age old question, Why am I here? In almost every bookstore and library across the world, you’ll find a myriad of self-help books geared to help you find the path to your destiny. Many of these books offer a wide-range of interesting techniques to finding your destiny; however, I believe the path to your destiny begins with God, and the desires He has placed inside you.

Regardless of what worldly venues promote, your destiny is not something you decide. You already have a God-given destiny, and that destiny must be discovered. To help you discover the path to your destiny, God has given you desires that will propel you toward what you have been called to accomplish.

I suggest you locate the things you are passionate about. Those things will lead you to your destiny. For example, if you could do anything you wanted, what would it be, and why? If money were no object and time was of no essence, where would your desires take you? Would you be a singer, dancer, or an artist? Or would you go to medical school and become the first person to cure cancer?

No matter what may have happened to you in life, I’ve got good news—you can still fulfill your dreams. Don’t allow the world to smother your dreams and poison your desires! You are never too old to get on the path to your destiny. Of course, hard work, discipline, patience, and faith are going to be necessary for you to complete your journey; however with God’s help, you can do all things.

Awaken the desire within you. Stir up your passion, and allow it to lead you to God’s destiny for your life. Study the Scriptures, and meditate on what God has promised you. Most importantly, while pursuing your passions, be sure to maintain your personal relationship with God. When you fellowship with Him through His Word, He will reveal passions and desires you never knew you had.
