Texas Woman’s University – School of Management exemplifies empowerment and leadership. The graduate students of Texas Woman’s University – Houston will host the Spring Scholarship Gala 2013 to fund a scholarship in honor of Dr. Paula Ann Hughes to benefit students pursuing their master’s degree in business administration. Through the generosity and support of our corporate and community partners, Texas Woman’s University – Houston is able to empower young minds and grow leaders.

Dr. Paula Ann Hughes holds a Ph.D. in Management: Personnel and Industrial Relations from the

University of North Texas. She also holds a MBA in Management from the University of North Texas

and a B.S. in Merchandising from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Hughes has had a long and distinguished career in education starting in 1968 as an instructor in the College of Business at the University of North Texas. Her career did not stop there. In 1982, she became the Acting Dean for the Graduate School of Management at the University of Dallas. From 1996 until 2001, Dr. Hughes was the Dean and a Professor of Management at Texas Woman’s University. In 2004, she became the Director of the School of Management at Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Hughes is a published author. She wrote the book “Re-energizing the Human Resource Function” in 1995 with David Gordon. Along with her book she has written articles on several human resource topics and has presented to Corporations and Professional Societies.
