A custody hearing is set for Wednesday in Conroe for two children who were found living on a school bus. According to published reports, a judge is expected to decide whether the two Houston-area children found living on the bus will remain in foster care.

Child Protective Services took the children into custody in March after concerns about the young boy and girl were not attending school and were found to be living in deplorable conditions. Additional reports indicate that CPS would like the children to remain in its custody.

At the time they were put into foster care, the children were being cared for by an aunt. The parents of the children were in prison for embezzling money from victims of 2008′s Hurricane Ike.

The mother of the children Sherrie Shorten, has reportedly been released from prison and is working to regain custody. The children’s father remains incarcerated.
