Lesa Spivey has been named the director of public and media relations for Houston Community College. Spivey comes to HCC from San Antonio, where she was a project manager and public affairs lead for Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc.
She recently retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel and public affairs director after 25 years of service. She was reared in Houston and graduated from Jack Yates Senior High Magnet School of Communications.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Houston and graduated with a master’s degree from Texas Southern University in the field of Public Administration.
“As an alumna of HCC, I am especially honored to have the opportunity to serve in my new role,” Spivey said.
