Deputy constables are searching for a car that was stolen from a northwest Harris County apartment complex with a 3-month-old child still inside.
A woman who contacted Harris County Precinct 4 late on Thursday morning told deputy constables that she left the baby in her silver Chevrolet Malibu while she stepped inside an apartment unit on Blue Ash Drive near Barren Springs Drive. When the woman returned to where the Malibu was parked, the car and child were missing.
The Malibu was left with the engine running and the keys in the ignition. It had a Texas license plate with the number BL7 V781.
An Amber Alert was issued before 12 p.m. Thursday for 3-month-old Aeliyah Cook.
Houston police learned at approximately 12 p.m. that a baby was left on the front porch of a home on Vogel Road. Cook’s mother traveled to Vogel Road to confirm that the child was the one that she reported missing.
