Summary:

Sharpening your hearing involves maintaining expectation that you will receive the wisdom only God can reveal. Praying without ceasing and communing with the Holy Spirit are keys to supernatural breakthrough. By inquiring of God and hearing clearly from Him, you will defeat the maneuvers of the enemy in these last days.

 


 

  1. Maintain a spirit of faith and expectancy.
    1. When you remain in expectation, you position yourself to receive from God.
      1. Expect to hear God’s voice every day.
      2. Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles.
    2. Have faith you will hear God’s voice.
      1. Everything in the Kingdom of God operates by faith.
    3. Refuse to fear that you will not hear Him.
      1. The world operates in selfishness and fear.
    4. Give your full attention to hearing a Word from God.
      1. For example, Peter told a begging lame man to focus on him and John (Acts 3:1-4).
      2. The man paid attention to Peter and John, expecting to receive something from them.
      3. He focused with expectation, obeyed, and received his healing (Acts 3:4-7).
      4. Distraction is an intrusion of the mind that causes confusion.
      5. Ask yourself, what am I focused on?
      6. Do you have a cluttered spirit?
    5. Obey immediately when you hear from God.
      1. Be faithful over the little things you hear God tell you to do and He will speak to you about bigger things.
      2. Continue to do the last thing He told you to do.
      3. Delayed obedience and partial obedience are still disobedience.
  2. Commune with the Holy Spirit in prayer.
    1. Pray in the spirit and pray without ceasing.
      1. Your hearing from God will tremendously improve when you frequently pray in the Spirit.
      2. Position yourself to receive wisdom from God.
      3. Spending time praying in the spirit will defeat the devil.
    2. There is great significance in having the Holy Spirit reveal knowledge to you.
      1. God knows all things; every hidden thing will be revealed.
      2. Revealed knowledge is knowledge that comes from God.
    3. The Holy Spirit gave Simon Bar-jona a revelation of who Jesus was (Matthew 16:13-17).
      1. When God speaks to you, you are empowered to have success.
      2. Simon became Peter as a result of the revelation.
      3. Peter means a piece of rock.
      4. Jesus explained that upon the source of the rock, He would build His church (Matthew 16:18, 19).
      5. The gates of hell can not prevail against Christians who have received revelation from the Holy Spirit.
      6. Jesus teaches us the Kingdom way of doing things.
      7. The keys are given so we will not be bound or stuck in life (Matthew 16:19).
    4. The secret things belong to God; there is nothing secret that shall not be revealed (Deuteronomy 29:29).
