(KTRK) — A church in southeast Houston was destroyed after it went up in flames overnight.

Massive fire destroys church

The call came in around 11pm Thursday that A Community of the Servant – Savior Presbyterian Church on Hughes and Sageglen was on fire.

When firefighters arrived at the church they found heavy flames shooting from the building. They called a second alarm and put it out. That forced them to pull a second alarm. Eventually, they put out the flames but not before the fire burned nearly the entire building.

No one got hurt and no one was inside at the time of the fire. The building is a total loss and will have to be torn down sometime later today.
