A total of seven families affected by the Flint water crisis are taking their grievances to court after their lead-poisoned children reportedly went through developmental changes last year.

Nakiya Wakes recalled her pregnancy and the tragic events that unfolded. Wakes moved to the city in June 2014 and suffered her first miscarriage a year later. She was then informed she was carrying twins and the other child survived. During her second trimester, she suffered another miscarriage.

Nakiya Wakes says she was only notified of the dangerous health effects associated with drinking Flint's water after having two miscarriages.
