The Emmys To Move 5 Categories Out Of Official Telecast

The Emmys are moving five categories out of the official NBC telecast. The Television Academy says it’s making a “concerted effort to revitalize the ceremony, which rarely has time to include any entertainment due to the tremendous number of kudos that have to be handed out.” Writing for a variety series, as well as supporting actor and actress in a limited-slash-anthology series or movie, are set to be moved. Along with those, directing and writing for a limited series-slash-anthology will also be shifted to earlier ceremonies. The early celebrations take place on September 5th and 6th, with the Primetime Emmy telecast slated for September 14th.

The Princess And The Frog’s Princess Tiana May Get Spinoff

Oscar-nominated actor and playwright Colman Domingo and Tony-nominated playwright Robert O’Hara are possibly teaming up on a original live-action feature. Deadline reports The Princess and the Frog’s Princess Tiana may get her own expanded spinoff view about her life. The 2009 movie is about a waitress who wants to open her own restaurant set in New Orleans in the 1920s. She also tries to bring her frog prince, Naveen back to human after a witch doctor cursed him, but turned into a frog herself. The movie grossed 267-million-dollars worldwide and was nominated for three Oscars.

Study: Frequent TV Watching May Harm Long-Term Brain Health

A study says watching TV frequently can harm brain health. The study was led by researchers from the University of Southern California. It found that people who reported watching TV “very often” showed reduced size in areas of the brain linked to memory and damage in areas of the brain the are tied to aging, stroke risk, cognitive decline and dementia. Men were most vulnerable to the changes.
