Trump Brings Back Presidential Fitness Test Award
President Trump has brought back the Presidential Fitness Test Award for kids across the country. He signed a proclamation in the Oval Office to restore the award this morning. This comes after Trump reestablished the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition as well as the fitness test last year. The fitness test was replaced by the Presidential Youth Fitness Program during former President Obama’s second term.
Delta Cuts Snacks On Short Distance Flights
Delta Airlines is no longer going to hand out snacks on short distance flights. Starting May 19th, economy passengers on flights under 350 miles will not get snacks, in-flight meals, or drinks. The change impacts roughly 450 daily flights, but first-class travelers will still get full service. Another change, Delta says it will now offer full food and beverage service to its comfort and main cabin customers on flights between 350 and 499 miles. Back in 2015, Delta stopped offering food and beverage service on flights under 250 miles.
Study Shows Travel Helps With Anti-Aging
New research shows traveling can help with anti-aging so long as it’s not a stressful or unsafe trip. An Edith Cowan University study shows traveling helps the body with balance, resilience, repair and lowers stress because of the help from being in an unfamiliar surrounding with relaxing experiences. The study points out that traveling often results in more time on your feet as opposed to sitting still. However, researchers caution that this could backfire if travelers run into diseases, accidents, injuries, unsafe food or water, pushing the body in the opposite direction.
Dietician Gives Calorie Tips On Weight Loss
If you are looking to shed some pounds put on during the winter, a dietician is highlighting how to cut calories you may not realize add up over the course of a day. Julia Zumpano with the Cleveland Clinic says condiments are a source of excess calories. She says salad dressings, cooking oils and drinks like soda and certain coffees can accumulate quickly. Zumpano recommends having them in moderation and to note the serving size. She says there are online calorie trackers that can help.
