Natural Disaster Report

Texas has more natural disasters than any other state.  That’s according to the National Hurricane Center, NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center and the U.S. Geological Survey.  They keep track of  hurricanes, tornadoes and significant earthquakes.  Between 2005 and 2024, Texas recorded more than 27-hundred natural disasters.  That’s more than twice as many as Florida.

Greatest Texan Ever

An informal poll of Reddit users finds that the greatest Texan ever is a fictional character.  Last Friday, more than 200 people answered the question, “Who is the best figure in Texas history?”  The answers included Sam Houston, Juan Seguin [[ sa-GEEN: hard G ]], LBJ, and Beyoncé.  But the most support went to Hank Hill, main character in the animated TV series King of the Hill.  The show ran on Fox from 1997 to 2010, and Hulu revived it in 2025.
