TX Judge Says Flooded Camp Must Preserve Damaged Buildings
A Texas judge says a girls camp where 27 people died in a flood last summer must keep its damaged buildings intact while a wrongful death lawsuit moves forward. Wednesday’s ruling from a Travis County District Judge came after three days of emotional testimony from the family that owns and operates Camp Mystic. In their testimony, the owners acknowledged they did not tell campers about the urgent weather warnings before their cabins were overwhelmed by raging floodwaters. The camp is being sued by the family of an eight-year-old girl whose body was never recovered after the flooding.
Woman, Alleged Stalker Hospitalized Following Stalking, Shooting Incident
A woman is recovering after being shot by an alleged stalker outside her north Harris County home. HCSO says the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Emanuel Marin, had been stalking the victim for several days before confronting her. Marin allegedly fired into the woman’s vehicle, hitting her in the shoulder, and also shot at her boyfriend’s car. Authorities say the boyfriend then struck Marin with his vehicle after witnessing the shooting and fearing for his life. Both Marin and the woman are expected to survive. Marin is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Man Fatally Shot In Northwest Harris County
A man is dead after a shooting in northwest Harris County. Police say the victim was gunned down last night near the intersection of Regency Green Drive and Regency Wood Drive. One person was detain in connection with the shooting. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
Body Found In Drainage Canal In Northeast Houston
An investigation is underway after a body was found in a drainage canal in northeast Houston. Police say the discovery was made yesterday by a man walking near the intersection of Ribbonwood and Sterlingshire Street. An autopsy will be conducted to determine a cause of death and the victim’s identity.
Houston Police Looking For Person Of Interest In Deadly Shooting
– Police are looking for a person of interest in connection with a deadly shooting at an Alief apartment complex back in January. Police want to question 20-year-old Leo Flores in the January 27th shooting on Lands End Drive, which claimed the life of 20-year-old Jermaine Fields. Anyone with any information on Flores’ whereabouts should call Houston Police or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
Montgomery County Uber Driver Accused Of Soliciting Minors
A Montgomery County Uber driver is accused of soliciting minors during rides. Josiah Carroll is charged with online solicitation of a minor and solicitation of prostitution of a minor. Investigators say Carroll allegedly exchanged contacts with minors during a ride and sent them sexually explicit images.
AGC Study: Houston Top City For Construction Work
Houston is a top city for construction work. That’s according to a new report by the Associated General Contractors of America, which found that Houston topped the list for the most construction jobs in metro areas between January 2025 and January 2026. During that time frame, Houston added 16-thousand construction jobs.

The astronauts recently returned to earth from their trip around the moon saying that the food they wanted most upon their return was uncrusted sandwiches. Astros Defeat Rockies
The Astros notched a second straight victory. Houston beat the Colorado Rockies 3-1 at Daikin Park. Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored while Cam Smith and Christian Walker each had an RBI. Starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti earned his first win after striking out 10 through six innings of one-run ball. Enyel De Los Santos recorded his second save as the Astros improved to 8-and-11. They host the Rockies again tonight.
Rockets Visit Lakers To Open Playoffs
The Rockets are continuing to prepare for their first round playoff series. Houston will visit the Los Angeles Lakers in Game One on Saturday night at Crypto-Dot-Com Arena. The Rockets went 1-and-2 against the Lakers during the regular season.

The Houston men’s basketball team is adding a new member to the frontcourt. Lamar transfer forward Braden East has committed to the Cougars. The Houston native averaged 12.8 points and 9.1 rebounds in 30 games played last season.
