Gospel music shows its unique ability to bridge divides in the “chance” meeting of Chicago choir Joshua’s Troop and Chance the Rapper.  Billboard Magazine reports that the recent Grammy winner took to social media to locate the hit makers whose 2008 single Clap Your Hands reached number 18 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Chance was able to connect with group leader Percy Gray, Jr. on Sunday night after church and invited the choir to perform at his Open Mike Chicago event.  The group was given the opportunity to meet the rap superstar,  and he expressed a mutual admiration for the group and their music and hoped for future opportunities to work with them. Gray noted the choir’s excitement and welcomed the opportunity.
