The 2-year-old boy dragged by a gator into the lagoon near his Disney World hotel resort has been found dead.

His body was found intact near the site indicating that his death was likely caused by drowning.

After the attack on Tuesday in Orlando, officials began a search for the missing toddler. During the search officials noted that four other alligators were found in the water close to Disney World.

The family was outdoors at the Grand Floridian resort around 9 p.m. when the boy stepped about a foot in the water.  The boy’s parents tried to pry the alligator off of him but he was dragged into the water. According to Disney, “the lagoon is not for recreational swimming.”

We send our prayers to the boy’s family at this difficult time.
