First Lady Rose Watson dances with some of the kids during her Special Day

TBR — Richmond, VA – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, the church family of St. Paul’s Baptist Church honored and celebrated their First Lady, Rosemary Wilder Watson.

For 30 years, she has served selflessly the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church family alongside her husband, the Senior Pastor, Dr. Lance D. Watson.

During the past 30 years, the church has experienced phenomenal growth, numbering now over 10,000 members strong. In addition to serving as First Lady of this dynamic, thriving and forward thinking congregation, she has given birth, nurtured and supported three incredible children, Lance, Rachel and Damon and now five grandchildren, Kaylee, Lance III, Rachel, Avia and Earnest III.

Amazingly, she has managed to raise her children, complete her education, hold down several jobs and cultivate a worldwide musical career at the same time. She is a triple threat musical performer who has toured more than 20 countries singing, acting and dancing. Her musical roots grew out of Detroit, a musical mecca and although Gospel is her favorite, she performs in multiple genres.

First Lady Rose is also known as a true fashionista with a sense of style that is uniquely her own. She is widely recognized for her trend setting clothes, stunning shoes, flawless hairstyles and customized nail designs. She loves to motivate and inspire women to be the very best and encourages them to be comfortable in their own giftedness.

So it is understandable why the church family of St. Paul’s Baptist church and so many other family members and friends would want to celebrate and honor this First Lady for 30 years of love, life, laughter and ministry, as well as her birthday!

Joining in the celebration on Sunday, were special guests, Award winning Psalmist Michelle Williams, formerly of Destiny’s Child and Guest Speaker Bishop Vashti McKensie, who serves on the Thirteenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal.

Special video tributes from several other church First Ladies from across the country were also shared, along with a special video message from Gospel Recording artist Smokie Norful, who shared that he is First Lady Rose and Pastor Watson’s favorite artist. The congregation smiled and applauded as they peaked over at recording artist Michelle Williams who also smiled and was set to perform next.

Additionally a special letter from thee First Lady of our country, Michelle Obama was sent to First Lady Rose and shared with the congregation!

It was truly a fun filled blessed day.
