Minister Earl Bynum and the Mount Unity Choir

 Today during morning worship at Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church affectionately known as “The Mount”, Bishop K. W. Brown read HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 370 agreed to by the House of Delegates February 2014 and agreed to by the Senate March 2014 Commending Minister Earl Bynum and The Mount Unity Choir.     

The Resolution came as a surprise to Earl Bynum and The Mount Unity Choir for their being the only choir in the Commonwealth of Virginia to receive the prestigious 2014 Stellar Gospel Music Award in its twenty nine year history.  The Resolution congratulated Earl Bynum and The Mount Unity Choir for receiving “Contemporary Choir of the Year“.  The Resolution also congratulated Earl Bynum and The Mount Unity Choir for being nominated for “Choir of the Year” and “Recorded Music Packaging of the Year” 2014.  

The Resolution spoke of the more than 100 member choir 13 track CD/DVD chart topping song “Bless the Name of the Lord” being hailed as “The Worship Anthem of the Year”. The CD ranked eighth on Billboards Top Gospel Sales Chart and is filled with other powerful and sweet worship ballads and passionate Gospel and contemporary worship songs featuring Dr. Judith McAllister, Evangelist Lemmie Battles, Charmain Swimpson, Cora Armstrong, Slater Johnson and Lady Tibba Gamble; the DVD includes exclusive behind – the – scenes bonus material.  The project also includes sheet music and performance track.

Additionally, the General Assembly congratulated Bishop Kim Walter Brown for releasing its inaugural CD/DVD on their own recording label “K. W. Brown Ministries” which was an eight year vision of Bishop Brown; as well as having locations in Chesapeake VA, Newport News, VA and Elizabeth City, NC and a congregation that has grown from 75 to over 10,000 members during Bishop Brown’s pastorate.  

Minister Bynum says GOD is faithful and to GOD he gives praise.  He also gives a very special thank you to Virginia House of Delegates and Delegate Daun Sessoms Hester.
