(HOUSTON, TX)– A 76-year-old Galveston County man is arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl. Thomas Joseph Perthuis is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. His wife runs a home based, after school child care service. The victim was in his wife’s care when it happened. Authorities were informed when the victim’s mother and a school counselor learned what had happened from the girl. Capt. Barry Cook is with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation was delayed when Perthuis checked himself into a mental health facility. He was charged on Monday. Captain Cook says there could be more victims.
