(HOUSTON, TX)– An irate elderly man opened fire on a neighbor’s dog that he thought was urinating on his lawn.
The son of the dog’s owner told KHOU 11 that 80-year-old Joe Richard had a history of threatening dogs with a brick. On Monday morning, when the dog “Betsy” wandered out, the alleged weapon was different.

Betsy was taken to the vet and though she limps, she is expected to recover.
Richards was charged with cruelty to animals.
