Houston’s own Beyoncé Knowles is teaming with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations in a global campaign to get people to try to make the world a better place.

She will perform the Diane Warren song “I Was Here” live at the U.N. The clip will be rolled out on august 19th, World Humanitarian Day.

Knowles says it’s time people realize they need to “leave our mark on the world.”

“We all see the headlines, and we think, ‘What can I really do to help?’ ” Beyoncé said in a statement. “World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.”
