A Houston police officer was arrested Thursday for a rape that allegedly took place last month.
Adan Jimenez Carranza, 32, is accused of an aggravated sexual assault that occurred June 18. He has been an officer since September 2009.
According to an HPD spokesman, Carranza was relieved of duty on June 21 because of a pending internal affairs investigation.
Carranza was reportedly assigned to the Westside patrol division.
It is unclear from early reports whether the alleged assault took place while Carranza was on duty.
