Pasadena ISD Police and the city of Pasadena’s police department remain at the scene of a shooting on a school campus hours after the incident. It was after midnight when a Pasadena ISD police officer responded to an alarm at the campus of Miller Intermediate on Fairmont Pkwy. The officer heard someone inside one of the portable buildings at the back of the campus. Before backup could arrive the person inside walked out. The officer reportedly told that person to stop and when he didn’t the officer fired a single shot hitting the suspect in the upper right torso.

It turns out the suspect is an eighth grade student at this campus. He is 14-years-old and in stable condition after being taken by Lifeflight to  the hospital.

Pasadena ISD Superintendent Kirk Lewis tells us the student did not have a weapon but did have a backpack. What he may have taken from the portable classroom is still unclear. The classroom is mainly used for after school care but does have some electronics in it.

The officers name has not been released but he has been with the school district PD for six years. He is said to be shaken up and as part of standard procedure will be on administrative leave while this investigation continues.
