Stanford star Nnemkadi Ogwumike was selected with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday.
Ogwumike attended Cypress Fairbanks High School and led them to a 5A State Championship in her senior season. In high school, Ogwumike was named a WBCA All-American. She participated in the 2007 WBCA High School All-America Game, where she scored 17 points. She also earned MVP honors for the White team.
