The unemployment rate in the United States was last reported at 9.1 percent in July of 2011, begs us to ask the question should we hold our breath for economy to get rolling again?

The current fragile and painful economic crisis has us holding our breath for relief on the near horizon for possible real change to reduce the worsening growth gap between the richest Americans and the middle-class and poor families.

We should not hold our breath with no clear signs of recovery, reform, new jobs or any other rabbit being pulled out of the hat.

In the context of the U.S. and global financial weakening causing uncertainty and tremendous change in the economy and labor market, many people are deciding that self-employment is the right choice for them. People work for themselves when there are too few jobs, or not the right kinds of jobs.
