Empowered By the Blood of Jesus Behold the Lamb of God

1. As John saw Jesus approaching him one day, he declared, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
   1. The Blood of Jesus is the effective solution for sin; however, it is not an excuse to willfully sin.  
      1. When we sin, we reap the consequences of it. We must continue to resist it.   
      2. We can confess our sins and forsake them. When we do, God forgives us because of Jesus’ sacrifice (Colossians 1:14).
      3. His shed blood cleans our slate with God. However, we must study and obey His Word to remain free of bondage so we can enjoy the life He died to give us.  

2. Only Jesus has been ordained by God to take away our sins (Isaiah 45:22, Acts 4:12).  

   1. There is no replacement for Jesus. There is no other way we can be saved, except through Him.
   2. Not only did He die so that we can be forgiven of our sins, He also died to free us from the bondages we face in our lives today.
      1. In every situation, it is vital that we continue to behold the Lamb of God (John 1:36, Hebrews 12:2).   

3. “By the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water” (Zechariah 9:11).

   1. The waterless pit of our lives can represent any bondage, such as negative habits, depression, oppression, poverty—it is anything that holds us down (Psalm 40:1-2).
      1. The enemy wants us to believe there is no way out of our personal pit. But Jesus is our way out.  
      2. The blood of Jesus has been ordained by God to free us from our bondage. There is no pit that can stand against the blood of Jesus.
      3. God gives us double for our trouble.   
   2. Even in the midst of bondage, we are always hoping for our deliverance.
      1. Our hope is found in Jesus’ sacrifice.We now can turn to the stronghold (liberation), which is the blood of Jesus. His blood has brought us total victory (Zechariah 9:12).
      2. Our faith for victory must be in the blood of Jesus. By faith, we can overcome whatever bondage we are struggling with.
