Summary:

One of the things Satan does to hinder the progress of Believers is to try to contain them so they never move beyond their current circumstances. He has no problem with people prospering in the world because they do not support the Kingdom of God. However, his battle is with Believers who are breaking out of financial containment. When Christians become wealthy, they are a great threat to the Kingdom of darkness.

  1. A.     Strategies of the enemy.
    1. Satan uses two primary weapons in his attacks against Christians.
      1. Deception. A major deception among Believers is the idea that simply knowing the truth will set you free. In actuality, it is when we apply and continue in the truth that we are set free (John 8:31, 32).
      2. Distractions of the mind. A distraction is an intrusion of the mind that causes confusion.

  1. B.     Christians must seize the victory by force. “The kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize— a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion]” (Matthew 11:12, AMP).
    1. Understand your enemy. You are not fighting physical forces (although it may seem that way). The battle is a spiritual one.
      1. Bind the strong man (the enemy) and spoil his house (Matthew 12:22-29).
      2. Violence is an intensity of motion, an attack, or assault. It will change and rearrange things on the basis of consistency.
      3. We must continue to confess, learn, meditate, and act on the Word. Our victory is gained when the Word of God becomes a lifestyle.
      4. Consistency is the key to breakthrough.
    2. Lay aside every weight or sin.
      1. Turn away from distractions and focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-5, AMP).
    3. Learn from the biblical account of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-5, AMP).
      1. This woman continued to come to an unjust judge saying, “Protect and defend me and give me justice against my adversary.”
      2. At first, the judge would not budge, but because of her persistence, he eventually granted her request.
      3. Her persistence was effective in persuading him.
    4. Consider the consistency of Joshua and the Israelites (Joshua 6:5-16).
      1. Joshua received instructions from the Lord, and when those instructions were carried out, the walls of Jericho came down. The Israelites gained the victory over their enemy.
      2. They won the battle because they obeyed God, and remained consistent in carrying out His Word.
      3. They were not moved by what they saw in the natural realm.
