Selfish, self -centered people are nothing but a distraction.
They cause grief in the lives that they touch. They give no regard for others. They are counterfeit individuals: fake, phony, frauds who take up space in your life. They are not in any relationship to give they are in it to take.
After dealing with people who use and manipulate others and take their kindness for weakness, out of a selfish motive, I was ready to relax, relate and release on this subject. I was prepared to give my high minded speech on selfish, self-centered people. Believe me, I had a lot to say. And then God checked me.
He said, what is your motivation for helping others? Why do you do what you do for others?
Is it out of your own desires? Or is it out of a desire to please Me and give Me glory?
He explained that if you operate out of your own desire and you are hurt and offended then that is your fault. But if you operate out of a desire to please Me and to bring Me glory, then no one can hurt you. I have you and what you do for someone else I will make happen for you. Don’t be discouraged. I will bless your works.
Needless to say, after that reality check. I have nothing to say on the subject.
In closing, I would like to share a prayer that I wrote and posted on Facebook . I believe it is appropriate:
Lord give me the wisdom and foresight to recognize the counterfeits and distractions in my life and the ability to handle them accordingly
I think if we are able to recognize those who are counterfeits and distractions, we will not get caught in the drama of people who are not suppose to be in our lives in the first place. Examine those around you and ask God, why are they in your life. Remember some people are for a second, a moment and some are for a lifetime. Don’t make the mistake of making someone who is temporary permanent.
Be encouraged. Allow the Lord to heal any pain, grief or discomfort caused by selfish individuals.
Walk in your victory! Remember We win!
