FCA is excited to announce its 2010 camp season, UNLEASH THE POWER: Strengthen Your Core, as coaches and athletes are challenged to develop FCA’s Core Values of integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence. A significant aspect of FCA’s ministry, these camps for athletes and coaches have swept America in record numbers in recent years and impacted countless lives.

The 2010 FCA Camp season, which begins in May, will attract approximately 50,000 athletes and coaches to close to 300 camps in 37 states and 14 countries. Camp participants, which have more than tripled since 2002, are provided with outstanding sports training as well as compelling speakers, small group time with college athletes and opportunities to dig into the Bible and develop spiritual core values.

“[FCA Camp] completely changed my life as a coach and follower of Christ,” said Claudia, a high school coach who attended an FCA Leadership Camp in Maryland. “I made some fabulous friendships and worked on making great changes in my outlook towards coaching – doing it all in God’s name. I came out supercharged and ready to share that energy with my [athletes] and community.”

This life-changing impact has been an integral part of FCA Camps since the first camp in Estes Park, Colorado in 1956. Fifty-four seasons later, FCA Camps are now reaching athletes and coaches in the United States from coast to coast as well as an expanding international camp calendar.

“UNLEASH THE POWER is about strengthening the core – the spiritual core!” said Dan Britton, Executive Vice President of Ministry Programs for FCA. “Athletes and coaches will be challenged to pursue integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence in all they do – on and off the field of competition.”

FCA Sports, Team, Partnership and Power Camps, open to boys and girls between the ages of 8–18 years old, are geared towards teams and individuals at the youth, middle school and high school levels. Camps are offered in a variety of sports ranging from baseball, basketball, football and golf to beach volleyball, cheerleading, karate, lacrosse and surfing.

In addition to these youth camps, FCA also offers camps that focus on leadership and coaches. Leadership Camps are for student-athletes, Coaches and volunteers who serve as leaders on their local campuses. These camps focus on teaching practical skills for Christian growth and development as an effective campus leader.

Coaches Camps are designed to minister, equip and encourage them as coaches through Bible studies, small groups, fellowship, prayer support, discipleship and mentoring. Weekend retreats called “Couples Getaways” are also available for coaches and their spouses to break away for a time of refreshment.
