Thanks to a Facebook page, a member of a Beatles’ tribute band called “Help!” ended up Friday with a jail mugshot and $130,000 bail.

Theodore “Ted” Felicetti, 54, was arrested at 9 a.m. following the band’s live performance during the morning news show at the KSWB/Fox 5 studio on an outstanding warrant related to drunken driving, said Carlsbad police Lt. Marc Reno.

Reno said Carlsbad police had gone to various residences in Carlsbad since December 2008 trying to locate Felicetti, but couldn’t find him. They received a tip that he was in the band, and an officer found the Facebook page for Help!, which said the TV performance was scheduled to start Friday at 8:50 a.m.

“Posted on the Help! Facebook page was a picture of Theodore Felicetti, including other band members, and the upcoming locations where the band would be playing,” Reno said.

Dressed in plainclothes, Corporals Scott Meritt and Tyler Mazzocco arrested Felicetti, a bassist for the group who plays the role of Paul McCartney, in the back lot of the studio on Engineer Road.

The television appearance was promoting the band’s participation on Sunday in the Ultimate Music Challenge for cover bands at Viejas Casino.

The officers could have interrupted the performance to make the arrest, but they waited, said station news director Rich Goldner.

Felicetti was booked into Central Jail, Reno said.

He said the social media site is “something law enforcement uses as a tool to investigate crimes.”

Facebook allowed officers to locate Felicetti “with the click of a mouse,” Reno said.
