(Undated)  —  Wednesday night was elimination night on Fox’s “American Idol.”  The hit reality series is now down to just nine finalists.  Twenty-three-year-old Didi Benami and Texas vocalist Tim Urban were the two contestants in danger of being eliminated, and waited anxiously as “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest announced their fate.

Didi Benami performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Rihannon” in an attempt to earn the judges’ “save,” but was still sent packing.  Prior to Didi Benami’s elimination, “American Idol” welcomed a trio of R&B and hip-hop stars to the stage.  Ruben Studdard kicked off the show with his new single “Don’t Make Em Like You No More.”  Usher and the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am followed with a performance of Usher’s latest hit “OMG.”  Diddy and his new ensemble Dirty Money rounded out the evening with their new track “Hello Good Morning.”  Tune into Fox next Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Eastern for an all-new episode of “American Idol.”
