A 7-year-old girl left in critical condition after a hit-and-run at Bear Creek Park died Tuesday evening, officials said.
The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. Monday at Clay Road and War Memorial Drive in far west Houston.
The girl ran into the road as she and her mother headed for their car, police said. The driver stopped, but after seeing that the child was injured, said she didn’t hit the girl before getting back into the vehicle and driving away, witnesses said.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a late model white Mitsubishi Montero with grey panels.
