Simon Cowell’s rep is responding to reports about the “American Idol” host’s love life.  Max Clifford tells People.com that he cannot confirm whether or not Cowell, 50, is engaged to 36-year-old makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy (Misch-GON Hu-SANY).  Clifford says, quote, “I see it being reported everywhere, but when I asked him last Wednesday…his answer was, ‘Max, I’m not engaged.’  That was last Wednesday.”  When Clifford asked his client if he may be headed down the aisle this year, his reply was simply, “Who knows?”  Clifford also explains that Cowell and Hussainy have known each other for years and have been dating for the past year.  He says, quote, “They are very suited.  She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that.  He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I’ve been working with him.”
