Group Night Adds Drama To “American Idol”

(Undated)  —  Hollywood week continued on Fox’s “American Idol” Wednesday night, as the contestants were required to perform in groups.  While several groups struggled to sing in harmony, Destiny’s Wild impressed the judges with their rendition of Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance.”

Destiny’s Wild was able to advance, but the judges weren’t quite as kind to The Dreamers.  The group was never able to get on the same page, and as a result two of their five members were sent packing.  Pop superstar Gwen Stefani was also a factor on Wednesday night, as numerous groups unsuccessfully attempted to perform her hit single “Sweet Escape.”  All told, 71 of the 96 participants received a positive review and kept their “Idol” hopes alive.  Tune in next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern for an all-new episode of “American Idol” on Fox.
