American Idol” Eliminates Four Finalists

(Undated)  — The dream of becoming the next “American Idol” came to an end for four finalists on Thursday night.  Unfortunately for 24-year-old Janell Wheeler, her performance of Heart’s “What About Love” on Tuesday night didn’t garner enough votes from the American public.

Thursday night was also the end of the road for 22-year-old Ashley Rodriguez, California resident Joe Munoz, and 20-year-old Tyler Grady.  Thursday night’s broadcast also featured performances from a pair of “Idol” alums.  Last season’s winner, Kris Allen, performed the song “Let It Be” while showing footage of his recent trip to Haiti.  Fellow season eight finalist Allison Iraheta also took the stage, delivering a rendition of her single “Scars.”  The final ten female finalists will return to the “Idol” stage next Tuesday, while the remaining male contestants will perform on Wednesday.  Tune into FOX next Tuesday for an all-new episode beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
