She's was known as "the fastest woman in the world," but Florence Flo Jo Griffith Joyner was much more than that. She was a loving mother, a designer, and even an actress too.

85-year-old Claudette Colvin has been on probation since 1955, after she was arrested for refusing to sit on the back of a segregated bus in Alabama.

Students recently took shots at Howard University’s 40-year contract with Corvias, the property management company hired to provide maintenance for the dorms. In a video posted to Twitter, a student calls Corvias a “very slum lordy company” and explains her issues with the company.

Students at Howard University have been protesting horrible living conditions inside of some dorms on campus. Using the Twitter hashtag #BlackburnTakeover, organizers encouraged a sit-in at the Blackburn Center to bring attention to this housing crisis and demand change within the dorms.

In January 2020, Honolulu Police arrested a 10-year-old black girl in front of her classmates after a parent called the school to complain about a drawing made by the young girl.

Wednesday's vote is simply about whether the Senate will debate the recently introduced voting rights legislation. Republicans previously filibustered similar attempts to discuss the For the People Act.  

In a Twitter thread, journalist Jacquelyn Mason explained that the major narratives observed were also put in the context of broader political conversations.  

Not waiting for the Biden administration to defend the case or find another remedy, the group filed a motion to intervene. According to a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the group sees Section 1005 of the American Rescue Plan as a viable step toward addressing “ decades of well-documented discrimination at the hands of the USDA.”
