Every year people begin by making New Year Resolutions. It is so much so that when people see you for the first time in the New Year their first question is what your New Year Resolution was. I have found over the years New Year Resolutions are extreme goals that most people do not have the will power nor the goal setting ability to really follow through on the challenge. Think about all the resolutions you have made over the years. How many of them have you achieved over the years? How many have you not accomplished? It is such an American tradition I don’t even think people realize they are not following through with the resolutions. It may be time to take a different approach in 2010.

Consider this, A New Year’s Resolution is the first lie you tell yourself every year. Is that any way to start anything in a positive way? Let me answer that for you, no. New Year’s Resolutions should become a lost tradition. Life should be a set of goals that you reach not lies you tell yourself. Goals are achieved by accomplishing steps along the way. People jump into resolutions with no true idea of what they are doing. Start this year off in a different way. If you have a large goal such as weight loss or getting out of debt, do it in steps. It may not be accomplished in one year. Lasting results usually do not come instantly. Goal setting is a much better way to start off the year. You may not agree and love your traditions, I understand how hard change is to accept. I Am Just Trying To Help.
