Darrel Walls Brings Easter Cheer in Chicago

Over the Easter holiday, Darrel Walls made an appearance at Chicago’s annual Biggest Give and Receive concert in partnership with John F. Hannah Ministries. Walls, who recently won a Grammy® Award for his collaborative album Heart of Mine with PJ Morton, gave a show-stopping performance of his current radio single “Able” which is No. 16 on Billboard and No. 17 on the Mediabase Gospel Airplay charts. “Last night with [Darrel Walls], he is absolutely unreal!!!,” music director Derrick “Swol” Ray said in an Instagram post. Ray has played with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.
The big show was held at the Greenwood Oasis with an all-star band under Ray’s direction. Among the other soul-stirring performers were Kelontae Gavin, Crystal Aikin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and Pastor DeAndre Patterson.. Darrel was phenomenal, super talented and anointed.”
Amy Grant and Chris Eaton: The Story of Breath of Heaven
Kelly Clarkson recently performed a rendition of the holiday classic “Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song),” originally written by Chris Eaton and made famous by Amy Grant. The emotional performance took place on Easter and was praised for its impact. The song, which was originally not about Christmas or the nativity story, was reimagined by Grant to focus on Mary’s perspective. Grant’s personal experience of pregnancy at the time inspired her to rewrite the verses and capture the vulnerability of Mary’s extraordinary calling. Despite never being released as a commercial single, the song has become a modern Christmas classic and is frequently performed in various settings.
