  Health experts are emphasizing the importance of washing hands to prevent illnesses from being spread as we enter cold and flu season.  The CDC says regularly washing your hands can help reduce the spread of germs, including respiratory illnesses by up to 21 percent.  Doctor Allan Capin, an urgent care physician at the Cleveland Clinic says that means after a cough, sneeze, bathroom use, handling food, taking out the garbage and being out in public.  Capin says hand washing should go on for at least 20 seconds.

Top 2026 Travel Destination Is In The U.S.

The top 2026 travel destination is in the U.S.   According to a worldwide survey by Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo, Big Sky, Montana tops the list.  The report ranks the top 10 destinations based on flight and accommodation searches on Expedia from 24-thousand global travelers over the last year.   The other destination hotspots include Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Phu Quoc, Vietnam and Savoie, France.  Rounding out the top ten:  Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Uclulet, Canada; Cotswolds, U.K, ; San Miguel de Allened, Mexico and Hobart, Australia. 

Pickleball Eye Injuries Surge

(Undated)  —  Pickleball has exploded in popularity in the U.S., but so have the number of eye injuries connected to the game.  According to a JAMA study, there were over 12-hundred eye injuries blamed on pickleball in the U.S. last year.  It also found the number of eye injuries associated with pickleball jumped by 400 each year from 2021 through 2024.  At least 70-percent of those came in players 50 or older.  Some of the worst injuries included retinal detachment, broken eye sockets, and eye bleeding. The American Academy of Opthalmology is recommending players always wear protective eyewear.
