Will Smith & Rapper Jay-Z are teaming up to present a TV Show detailing the lives of women who were actively involved in the Civil Rights movement.
The ABC series, tentatively titled Women Of The Movement will be produced by Jay-Z and longtime friend/business partner Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith under Roc Nation. Smith and James Lassiter will co-produce the series through Overbrook Entertainment, Billboard reports. The first story is set to be about Mamie Till, Emmitt Till’s mother who led a powerful campaign showing what racist men did to her child’s body in 1955. The story became national and a launching point for the Civil Rights Movement.
