flu 3

Today there is so much medicine offered by doctors or found at any store or pharmacy – and not to mention the many television commercials we see for almost anything that physically and nutritionally can help us. There are different views, reasons, questions and answers. Medicine is a substance or preparation that’s used to cure or help to make better any physical sickness or nutritional disorder.

One thing that comes to my mind and I still see very clearly is when I was a child and I would get a cold, my Mom would give me something that made me feel better and it was good for the cold. She would go to one of the top kitchen cabinets, get that bottle of red cherry flavored “medicated” syrup out, and give it to me with a spoon! It didn’t come with the little “plastic cup” back then; we had to use a spoon!

As believers, there’s a medicine we can take that will make us feel better and it’s good for us. The medicine I’m talking about is named, “Cheerful Heart.” This medicine is manufactured and produced by true joy, which is a result of our relationship with Jesus Christ and others.

“When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love. I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.” (John 15:10-12, NLT).

If we’re letting the Holy Spirit control and work in our lives, joy will certainly be produced! But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law. (Galatians 5:22-23, NLT).
