Whether you watch “This Is Us” or not this adoption story will make you tear up. Anthony Berry never wanted to be adopted, but when he met his English teacher, Ms. Bennie Berry, he knew he found his family. According to The Root, his teacher always thought that he was an amazing student.
She said, “Well at first I thought he was making jokes until he actually explained the situation. And then we struck a deal, ‘Finish an assignment, and then you can show me the website.” He talked to her about how he had been in foster care for several years and that most of the times people don’t want to adopt kids as old as him.
He also said to her, “If you have ever thought about adoption or didn’t want to be adopted, actually try it because you never know. Take into consideration that … there is always someone that will love you.” Anthony is now the older child to be adopted in Jefferson County. We are so happy that Anthony has found a home.
