Kirk Franklin is doing some major things and recently just transformed a vacant warehouse in Downtown Arlington into a recording studio like no one has ever seen before.

According to The Gospel Guru the two-story stone and glass building opened in November. The interesting part about Fo Yo Soul Entertainment is it was constructed to block out the noise and vibrations from traffic as well as the train tracks outside.

Franklin’s studio is also the first one in America that can change the space sounds. He said, “You can literally change the design of the building on a laptop. There are speakers and there are microphones in the walls. It can sound like whatever you want it to sound like with the touch of a button.”

The studio was built by the Russ Berger Design Group which also worked on projects such as Lakewood Church, NFL Films and more. It will also be added to the Arlington’s growing cultural arts destination list.

Berger mentioned, “You can make it sound like a small club or a cathedral or anything in between. It’s an amazing system. We worked with the manufacturers to develop something that specifically works well in studios and production spaces. Kirk’s studio is the first.”

This fall Franklin is expected to start working on some new projects with Tasha Page-Lockhart as well as Marvin Sapp and we can’t wait to hear some of them.
