(HOUSTON) U.S. Olympians Julie Chu, Lolo Jones and Kikkan Randall made an appearance at Mata Intermediate School this Wednesday.
The Olympians will arrived at Mata at 11:45 a.m. this morning to have lunch with students before speaking to fifth and sixth grade students in an assembly later that afternoon. The visit by the athletes was made possible through a partnership with BP America and Junior Achievement.
“Having one Olympian visit a campus is a huge deal, but having three visit at once is amazing. Our students will be able to meet three individuals who have the strength and determination to be one of the select few athletes to compete for the United States in the Olympic Games. Thanks to BP America for making this all possible,” said Janet Spurlock, principal at Mata Intermediate School.
