(SUGAR LAND, TX) — Sugar Land police are looking for a man who robbed a woman outside First Colony Mall.

A 21-year-old woman was leaving First Colony Mall from the Forever 21 entrance at about 8:15pm Saturday when police said she was approached by a light-skinned black man.

She was reportedly looking down and texting when the man tried to grab her phone. Police said she held onto the phone and tried to pull away, but the man threw her to the ground and forced the phone from her hands. He fled, running toward Methodist Hospital.

The woman, who suffered minor cuts and scratches in the assault, chased her attacker a short distance and then flagged down a motorist who helped her search the area.  They were unable to locate him.

The man was 17-19 years old and was wearing a red and white motorcycle jacket, black jeans and white shoes. Police said he was seen with another black man who was wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans.
