There’s nothing like opening a gift and finding it’s the wrong size, you already have one or it’s just not for you. If you’re not a re-gifter, chances are you’re headed to the return line.
Before you go, Dan Parsons of Houston’s Better Business Bureau says make sure you have a receipt.

“You’ve got to have your documentation and with gift cards that’s particularly important,” Parsons said. “You’re trusting an employee to swipe that thing. Make sure that receipt says exactly what you purchased and have a transaction number.”
Parsons says the good news is, retailers are likely to be more lenient about those returns because of recent security leaks with customer data. Stores want you to be happy so you will continue to come back and spend money.
