HOUSTON – If you want a piece of Astrodome history be at Reliant Center Saturday morning for the “Astrodome Yard Sale and Live Auction.”

Astrodome seats will be sold in pairs for $200.  Workers were still cleaning the chars on Tuesday afternoon and doing whatever repairs need to be done prior to the sale.   Still some of the chairs looked great while others has a significant amount of rust.  The chairs will come in 4 different colors.

Suite furniture will also be sold.

Pieces of Astroturf will also be available for $20 each.

Everything will be sold “as is.”

The most interesting memorabilia will be sold at auction.

“We have staff uniforms, about 6 or 7 different types of staff uniforms,” said Leah Mastaglio, Director of Event Services for Reliant Park.

“We also have the original grounds crew helmets that they wore when they laid out the field,” she said.

“In the live auction we have some memorabilia items that consist of the baseball benches from the dugout, football benches, also some signed player sketches.”

Registration starts at 7 a.m. Saturday November 2.  The sale begins at 8 a.m. and the live auction is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Hall E of the Reliant Center.

Mastaglio says there has never been an auction of Astrodome memorabilia quite like this one so they are not sure how many people will show up.  Getting there early would be a good idea.

Reliant Center is next to the Astrodome.
